Did you know that Google offers customized search that you can add to your website?
Most, but not all organizations with a restricted intranet utilize an in-house site search feature that provides employees, members, and outside affiliates with remote access and the ability to search for internal documents, data, and other information from within the private network.
The Google Custom Search basic plan is named "Standard Edition" and is free, however, it does include ads which are required on your results pages. The "Site Search" edition starts at $100 per year, includes guaranteed support and greater results customization options, and ads are optional on results pages.
It also provide free version of custom search Engine but when user search on your site this custom search Engine show some Ad of other websites.
Getting started
First, you will need a Google Account; if you already have the free account you can sign in from there or create a new account. Once your account is established or you have logged in, then you can access the Google Custom Search Management home page. Below are the quick steps to setting up your custom search:
Follow these steps to create a custom google search Engine-
1. Go To Google CSE
2. Hit the create custom search engine button
3. Fill the form as shown in the screenshot below,
describe your search engine by adding a name and short description, then select the language preference. Any of these settings can be changed later from the "My Search Engines" page
4. Now click on CREATE button.
5. On next screen you will see these three options shown in the image.
From here simply click on Get Code button and copy your custom search Engine code, on next step you will need to apply this code into your website.
Here you can customize your search Engine click on Look and feel.
- If you wish to add the search box just below posts as I have done on my blog then choose Full-width
- Or if you wish to display the box and results on the sidebar then choose compact
- Else if you wish to add your search box to your sidebar and display the search results above the post title then choose Two Column
Adding Google Custom Search Engine To Your Blog
1. Go to Blogger> Theme> Edit Html
2. paste your code it into a <div> element in your site's <body> section, where you want both of the search box and the search results to render.

3. Click on Save theme and you have done.
4. Go back on your blog home page and search anything on your blog and you will see result in a google custom search Engine.
